About the department

• The Department of Pathology has been established during the foundation the Faculty of Medicine in Rabigh in 2009. It represents a fundamental link between the basic medical science and the clinical science. The department itself focuses in teaching anatomical Pathology including diseases definition, etiology, and their consequences as well as histopathological diagnosis of these diseases by describing the morphological features.
• Pathology is concerned with the study of diseases dealing with the structural and physiological changes of the diseased cells, tissues and organs. It also explains the pathogenesis of diseases which eventually causes the clinical signs and symptoms. It thus serves as the bridge between the basic sciences and clinical medicine, and is considered as a scientific foundation for all medical sciences. The department is also responsible for teaching the subject of Forensic medicine and toxicology which deals with medico-legal cases.
