Teaching Curriculum

Teaching Pathology for the 3rd, 4th and 5th years medicine follows a well-structured and integrated systemic curriculum, based on the national center for academic accreditation and evaluation. This curriculum is reviewed annually by the quality assurance unit to ensure its obligation to the NCAAA and OCED criteria and rules. The curriculum is delivered in two-phases, for three consecutive years, given that the 4th year medicine only involves Forensic medicine and toxicology. The following briefly describes the curriculum:
Second year medicine:
This year includes teaching of two modules: Core Pathology module and Musculoskeletal module. Core Pathology module (PATM211) is delivered in the 2nd semester of the same year, and for 8 weeks duration.

Following this module, the musculoskeletal module immediately starts and it is integrated with other modules.
Third year medicine
The department of Pathology participates other basic science departments in the integrated systemic modules. The teaching is delivered along the 1st and 2nd semesters through the year. The following systemic modules are given during the year:

Male and female reproductive system and breast module
Fourth year medicine: includes teaching Forensic medicine and toxicology, in 3 weeks duration, in the 1st semester.
